It's that time of year again, when an entire generation celebrates the final school bell and another generation looks with dread upon an entire summer of having the kids home all day.
It's ok, parents, you'll be able to find another way to fit in day drinking, I promise!
To celebrate the end of the school year, I wanted to call attention to one very special young man who will be a junior in the coming school year. JD is an amazing young man, and I've watched him grow into the great guy he is now over the past few years.
Quick story: When his mom and I worked together at a now-closed fabric store, JD once spent an entire afternoon (when he could have been doing almost anything else) helping me carry fleece bolts from the stockroom to the front of the store. Those things weigh almost ten pounds each, and are huge and awkward to carry. Not only did he help me stock the entire fleece wall, he then turned around and asked me what he could help me do next.
That's just the kind of guy JD is.
Congratulations, JD, on completing your Sophomore year and becoming a Junior. I'm happy to know you and I'm excited to see what life has in store for you.
Oh, and for those who are getting ready to start their SENIOR year... just know that I've got a special announcement planned in the next few days.
